PLUG, MACHINE THREAD, MAGNETIC: DRAIN
The U.S. Department of Defense has the use of this Commercial Item Description in preference to Military Standard FlS35844
SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
Plugs shall conform to SAE J532. For magnet application, the following requirements should apply:
1. The magnet material shall be permanent, ALNIC05, or ceramic series of MMPA-O91OO.
2. Magnet shall lift a minimum of 6 oz soft steel weight after inserted in plug.
3. Magnet shall be firmly retained in plug at temperatures up to 500° F.
4. Magnet maximum diameter shall be at least 0.100 inch smaller than the pitch diameter of the thread.
